Chris is a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy (SEAL Teams) where he retired as a Chief (SO7). He has multiple combat tours and was assigned to three different SEAL teams as well as Naval Special Warfare Development Group during his active duty service. His key billets include: Assault Team leader, Platoon Chief and Platoon LPO at Development Group. He spent 6 years in instructor and training assignments during his career. Since his retirement, he has worked as an instructor and contracted operator at numerous high threat security providers in the Middle East and Africa. He continues to deploy in support of contingency operations and high threat protective details spending approximately 120 days a year overseas. He holds an extensive list of Department of Defense and Special Operations Command certifications and qualifications.
Eric is a 30-year veteran of the U. S. Army with over 22 years in Army Special Forces. He has completed multiple Operational Deployments, as a Company Intelligence sergeant and ultimately retired as a Sergeant First Class. Eric’s last two years were as training cadre for Group Operations Training Detachment providing Special Forces operators with advanced and specialized training across the Special Operations spectrum including sniping, Advanced Urban Combat, Special Operations Jumpmaster, Unconventional Warfare and Special Operations Command (SOC-P) Combatives. Eric provided Host Nation soldiers and police in multiple countries with training tailored to fit existing requirements while maintaining careful consideration for language, culture and other unique parameters.
Serving the federal training community for more than 25 years, Steve is a respected Protective Programs subject matter expert (SME) and service provider to numerous high/ low-profile US federal agencies and the private sector. Specializing in operational readiness, he is actively contracted by the US Department of Defense, National Security Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, Drug Enforcement Administration, and many others. Steve is himself a former US Defense Intelligence employee (CIA), Protective Programs Educator and formerly on staff at the US DOE National Security Institute (Security Force Training Dept.) at Kirkland Air Force Base (NM). At the time of this writing, he is a published author of seven books and remains an advisor to the US Department of Justice (USDOJ) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). He is additionally a knife designer and the architect of IACP Model Policy on the carry and usage of knives by federal, state and municipal peace officers.
Howard has served for more than 20 years in the Marine Corps. He has served as a Platoon Commander, Company Commander, Battalion Executive Officer, Regimental Operations Officer, and Battalion Commander. He has multiple combat tours to include serving as a military transition team member in Fallujah. He is an NRA Certified handgun instructor and holds numerous Marine Corps training credentials. An active competitor in action pistol (United States Practical Shooting Association), long range rifle (NRA F-Class), and shotgun (Amateur Trapshooting Association, National Skeet Shooting Association), howard has earned numerous accolades and medaled during DoD competitions with the 1911 platform in bulls-eye shooting.
Doug is the founder and head coach at Vanguard Gym. He served for ten years in the infantry in the Marine Corps to include deploying as the platoon sergeant for the Maritime Special Purpose Force. His key billets include Platoon Sergeant, Squad Leader and Team Leader. More impressive is the accomplishments of his team who have consistently medaled at the world games for the past 10 years. Aside from being a talented shooter and coach, Doug is committed to the principles of responsible self defense, and manages a number of youth development program out of his gym in Manassas, VA. Additionally, Doug is a use of force subject matter expert who has developed and taught programs for a variety of government and private entities.
Simon spent more than ten years serving in both the Australian federal police and the Australian Army during which time he conducted operational deployments to East Timor and the Solomon Islands. He subsequently worked as a security contractor in a variety of hostile environments for 4 years before taking a 12 month assignment as an instructor and consultant for the Iraqi National Police. He has worked as an instructor, protective services agent and operator for a variety of security firms. He is certified by the Australian police to teach firearms and defensive tactics as well as being an NRA instructor in handgun, shotgun and patrol rifle.
Tom served 23 years as a member of the Tactical Response Team and has extensive training and experience in Police Special Operations and Police Sniping. While serving on Tactical Response Team, Tom held the positions of Entry Team Member, Assistant Team Leader, Team Leader, Sniper, Sniper Team Leader, Assistant Field Commander and Field Commander. He currently serves as a part-time police officer for the Village of Lakemoor, Ill., assigned as the training officer. Additionally, he served in the Marine Corps as an infantryman and was a sergeant during the gulf war. He holds a Second Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon-Do as well as has extensive experience in Filipino Martial Arts and Muay Thai Kickboxing. Tom has a number of Law Enforcement and nationally recognized firearm instructor certifications and qualifications.
Josh served in the Marine Corps in the reconnaissance community and has multiple operational deployments. He served in two of the three Reconnaissance battalions and as an instructor at Special Operations Training Group. Since his departure from the Marine Corps, he has worked as an instructor at Special Missions Training Branch, and as a security contractor for Garda, Lexicon and Skye Maritime. Josh is a certified NRA Handgun and Shotgun Instructor and holds an extensive list of USMC certification and qualifications.
